He said: What do you want to do with this…?
She said: I can’t hear you, I’m doing something. Can’t you see?
He said: No, I can’t see. What do you want to do with this…?
She said: What?
He said: What do you … Do you listen what I’m saying?
She said: Nope.
He said: You didn’t listen or you didn’t hear?

He said: Don’t worry…
She said: What you wanted, I’m listening. I could not hear you.

We do tend to listen “THE sound and volume” of the voice, instead of what the voice is saying to us.
Pretty good definition:
You cannot control if you can hear the sound. You can control if you listen to the sound. Your ear will hear the sound, whether you want to or not! You can decide if you want to listen to the sound.
